Dr Chrispin Gogoda

Dr. Chrispin Gogoda is a Lecturer in Renewable Energy Systems Engineering at Mzuzu University and former Head of the Department of Energy Systems. He holds a PhD in Energy Systems and an MSc in Renewable Energy Systems Technology from Loughborough University, UK, and a First Class BSc in Renewable Energy Technologies from Mzuzu University. His expertise spans battery energy storage, solar PV, and hydropower systems, with a strong interest in interdisciplinary research, productive use of energy (PUE), gender equity and social inclusion (GESI), and technology transfer. He has led and contributed to numerous high-impact projects across Africa and the UK, including the establishment of the Southern Africa Battery Energy Storage Systems Centre of Excellence (SABESS CoE) and the launch of Mzuzu University’s MSc in Renewable and Sustainable Energy Systems. Dr. Gogoda is a two-time Commonwealth Scholar and currently serves as a Faraday Institution Battery Ambassador for Malawi.
